Home to the Center for Information Technology in Instruction (CITI), the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire has been designated by the University System as a Center for Faculty-Student Research Collaboration. The combined missions of CITI and the Center complement each other in the search for news ways of involving students in active learning in the classroom and to spread the results of that search to institutions of higher learning in Wisconsin and neighboring states.

During the summer of 1996 fifteen UW System historians created The University of Wisconsin Student History Network for their students in U.S. hstory and World history Courses.
