Message from the President of the
Oral History Association
Welcome to H-Oralhist, the H-Net affiliated listserv of the Oral History
Association.  Like the practice of oral history, electronic forms of
communication are democratic, interactive, and shaped by the interests of
participants; so it makes sense that H-Oralhist has rapidly become an
important medium for discussion of oral history issues.  I hope you will
take advantage of the opportunities H-Oralhist affords to tell others about
your work in oral history, to share resources and information, and to
participate in discussions about method, ethics, and a range of other
topics.  And, if you are new to oral history, or you are not a member of
the Oral History Association, I hope you will consider joining.  Benefits
of membership include reduced registration rates at annual conferences, and
subscriptions to the Association Newsletter, which covers developments in
the field, and the Oral History Review, our scholarly journal.
