I have some questions concerning the Provost Marshal for the
District of West Tennessee during the last few years of the Civil War.
(1) Where are the best source of records for the role of the Provost
Marshal, District of West Tennessee, in the parole of confederate POWS
(National Archives or Tennessee State Archives)?
(2) Is it unusual for an individual from the 8th Arkansas Infantry to be
paroled in the District of West Tennessee??
Any ideas, suggestions, help, etc. would be very greatly appreciated!!
