Mel ************* H-AfrTeach MISSION STATEMENT H-AfrTeach is devoted to encouraging teaching about the African continent at all educational levels. Its purpose is to provide outreach services to teachers and to promote discussion and dialog among educators. H-AfrTeach is a part of the H-AFRICA Network of the H-Net (Social Studies & Humanities-on-Line) family of electronic networks hosted by Michigan State University. H-AfrTeach is co-sponsored by the African Studies Center of Michigan State University, with additional support from the African Studies Center of Boston University. The two focal points of H-AfrTeach activites are a World Wide Web homepage devoted to a wide variety of resources for use in teaching about Africa, and an edited internet discussion list open to those with an interest in teaching about the continent. H-AfrTeach services and discussions are provided without charge. H-AfrTeach welcomes basic questions concerning teaching about Africa. In addition, H-AfrTeach information services and topics for consideration are diverse, including (but not limited to) syllabi and course materials, bibliographies, listings of new teaching resoucres, library resource information, and reviews of books, films and video, as well as software, datasets, CD-ROMs, and other electronic information relevant to the study of Africa.
