Publications of the Institute of Contemporary Jewry Academic Chairman: Ezra Mendelsohn Administrative Director: Avraham Bar Gil Director of Publications: Moshe Goodman Background and Objectives: The Institute of Contemporary Jewry, a graduate research institute of the Hebrew University, is divided both regionally and thematically. The regional division provides training in American Jewish historiography, publishes research and develops archives of primary source material. The thematic division deals with the social, ideological and political development of Zionism and Zionist movements in Israel and around the world. Both divisions publish material by researchers and teachers of the Institute as well as sponsoring publication of other relevant materials. These publications include series such as the Study Circle on World Jewry, edited by Moshe Davis; the Guide to Unpublished Materials on the Holocaust Period, edited by Yehuda Bauer and Texts and Studies in American Jewish History, edited by Moshe Davis and Abraham J. Karp. Books, articles and studies in the various relevant disciplines are also published. The Bibliographical Center in Contemporary Jewry has begun registering annotated and indexed descriptions of this material on the ALEPH computer network. This will provide online access and comprise a significant research and study tool in the field of contemporary Jewry. Current status and future plans: - Annotated and indexed descriptions of articles, books and research published or sponsored by the Institute in Contemporary Jewry are being registered via the ALEPH computer network. - Continuing online registration of Institute publications. - Publication of selected bibliographies of relevant material.
