Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities and Humanistic Social Sciences
Institution Type: | College / University |
Location: | Wisconsin, United States |
Position: | Post-Doctoral Fellow |
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship Program invites recent PhDs to apply for its three two-year postdoctoral fellowships in the humanities and humanistic social sciences.
The theme for 2018-2020 applications is "Truth, Fact, and Ways of Knowing." We seek applications from scholars whose research addresses conceptions of truth (or lie), fact (or fiction) as well as questions of epistemology, representation, and evidence. Scholars may take up these themes directly as the topic of their research in fields that could include philosophy, literature, the arts, cultural studies, politics, or media studies, among others, or through methodological approaches that reflect novel ways of thinking about evidence, proof and argument. We also are interested in scholars who are concerned with the ways in which truth is manipulated, whether by groups, individuals, or discourses. Projects may focus on any area of the world, including cross-regional analyses, at any historical or prehistorical moment.
Complete information about the fellowship, the competition theme, eligibility, qualifications, and application requirements is available at our website. Applicants should complete the application at https://apply.interfolio.com/44129. All application materials must be submitted by November 1, 2017 to receive full consideration.
UW-Madison is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. We promote excellence through diversity and encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
