Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty - Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Professor
Institution Type: | College / University |
Location: | Oregon, United States |
Position: | Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor |
The Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Oregon is conducting an open search, with strong preference for scholars with teaching and research interests in sexuality studies, gender-based violence, and/or hemispheric Latinx feminisms. We will consider a variety of disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and methodological approaches that foreground the relationships among gender, sexualities, ethnicity/race, and class. We are particularly interested in applicants trained in feminist, women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, and Latinx Studies, although we welcome applications from those trained in other fields in the humanities and social sciences that complement existing strengths among the Department’s faculty. The appointments may be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full, and will be 100% within the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching courses in their area of specialization, as well as other courses in the department’s curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate level.
The University of Oregon is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty committed to teaching and working in a multicultural environment, and the department strongly encourages applications from scholars who are women, LGBTQ+, and/or members from underrepresented minority communities, as well as candidates who can provide senior leadership in the department. Applicants are requested to include in their cover letter information about how they will further this goal. We will begin screening applicants on October 1, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. We plan on conducting Skype interviews as necessary, and bringing finalists to campus for interviews in November through early December 2017. Only candidates who will have completed the requirements for the PhD by July 1, 2018 will be considered.
