ROLE of the POSITION
The Communication Studies department at UNLV invites applications for a permanent, full-time Faculty in Residence to serve as the Basic Course Director. The successful candidate will manage our basic courses, engage in basic course design and assessment, simultaneously overseeing a modest cohort of graduate teaching assistants. No research is required for long-term success in this 4/4 teaching position. Our growing and dynamic department currently serves approximately 3500 first-year students in COM 101 (public speaking) and COM 102 (interpersonal communication), and we are presently developing COM 103 (critical thinking). We are seeking a colleague fully devoted to basic course education.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a PhD from a regionally accredited college or university and experience teaching in higher education.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
