The International Relations Department at Bilkent University invites applicants for an open rank position, commencing Fall 2018. The Department is interested in applicants who specialize in International Security broadly defined, especially those with a concentration on Middle East politics. The Department of International Relations, which serves approximately 600 undergraduate students and 35 graduate students, fully embraces the university’s foundational objectives of providing high-quality education, high-impact research, and developing critical and analytical thinking.
Applicants should hold a PhD in International Relations, Political Science or a related field, though PhD candidates with publications and close to completing their studies are also encouraged to apply. However, the prospective candidate is required to receive a PhD no later than August 1, 2018. A strong publication record and promising research potential are essential. Successful applicants will teach two courses in their field of expertise at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels, maintain productive research programs, and supervise graduate theses.
