Due to administrative appointments, retirements, and sabbatical leaves, the Government Department at St. Lawrence University invites applications for three Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) positions in International Relations. These positions begin August 2018. Successful candidates will teach three courses per semester, including introductory courses in international relations and upper-level courses within their fields of expertise. Candidates with Ph.D. in hand preferred, though ABD candidates may be considered.
- The first position seeks expertise in the Middle East and is renewable for up to one additional year.
- The second position seeks expertise in security studies or American foreign policy and is renewable for up to one additional year.
- The third position is open regarding expertise, except that it will not duplicate the other searches in the Middle East, security studies, and American foreign policy.
Additionally, the department expects to conduct one international relations tenure-track search in the fall of 2018. We welcome applications from candidates who bring diverse cultural, ethnic and national perspectives to their scholarship and teaching.
