Interests include ecological anthropology and anthropology of religions, technology, Buddhist narrative, ethics and philosophy. At present I am studying the ays in which the social construction of landscapes mediates between religious and ethnic identities in a complex Himalayan society, editing a general history of Vajrayana, compiling materials on Newar ethnobotany, trying to learn to use GIS ( for caste and botanical research, and editing/translating Avalokitesvara texts from Sanskrit, Tibetan and Newari. |
