Elena Vezzadini <vezzadini@mail.h-net.msu.edu> Institut des Mondes Africains (IMAF) Paris Malher My research interests have long been on the modern history of the Sudan. In relation to that country, I work on nationalism, labour, education, slavery, racial relations, archival studies, post-colonial theory, in particular applied to colonial Sudan. My PhD, completed in 2008, has been on the social history of early nationalism in Sudan and the 1924 Revolution. I studied at the University of Bologna, University of Artois, and Bergen University. I learned Arabic in Tunis, Khartoum and Bergen. I have taught a variety of courses since 2006, from African History to Modern History of the Middle East, to introduction to Postcolonial Studies. I taught in Bologna, Macerata and Bergen universities. I am the author of "Lost Nationalism, Revolution, Memory and Anticolonial Resistance in Sudan", published by James Currey in 2015.
