Bio: I studied Modern History and Political Science at the University of Freiburg (Germany) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA) and received my PhD in Modern History from the University of Freiburg in 2013, supervised by Jörn Leonhard, with a study on Jewish experiences of the First World War in Europe and the United States. Since 2014, I'm a Research Associate at the Leibniz Institute of European History. My research interests include modern Jewish history, ethnic minorities during the First World War, transnational and comparative history, as well as digital humanities and mobility research. The working title of my second book project is Rooted Cosmopolitans and Transatlantic Mobilities: Revolutionary Lives after 1848/49. It focuses on the transatlantic mobilities, life-courses, and networks of male and female activists of the German Revolutions of 1848 who had to flee into European and US exile after the uprising’s defeat. |
