Bio: In December 2009, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in history. As an undergraduate, I was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society and made Dean’s List every semester. I was also involved in the university’s history and anthropology clubs. Then In December 2013, I earned my Masters of Arts Degree in Social Science from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, with a G.P.A. of 3.87. The primary focus of my degree is in history, with a secondary focus in anthropology. In partial fulfillment of my M.A. degree, I wrote a thesis entitled “Pennsylvania’s Role in the Mexican American War.” In it, I examined the role of the First and Second Regiments of Pennsylvania Volunteers played in the war, partially their exploits in central Mexico under General Winfield Scott. While attending graduate school at Edinboro I took course on historic preservation and cultural resource management, U.S. historiography, European history, Japanese history, U.S. social and intellectual history, and applied statistical analysis. I was also inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Students Honor Society and twice became secretary of the Edinboro chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. My research has primarily been in the areas of labor and conflict history, Pennsylvania history, military history, the Irish in America, and public history. I have written encyclopedia entries for various encyclopedias including the Encyclopedia of Military Science. I have also present papers on topics such as the Molly Maguire’s, the Mexican American War, East German rearmament, and post-war American at academic conferences such as the Ohio Valley History Conference |
