Bio: Christopher began his PhD studies in the Department of Journalism studies in September 2015, having received a full departmental scholarship through the University. Immediately prior to commencing this, he had completed his MA in Historical Research at The University of Sheffield, for which he focused on Edwardian political culture and the relationship between Liberal government policy and mainstream press depictions. In 2013, he graduated with a First Class Honours degree in History from The University of Liverpool. Besides his academic study, Christopher’s primary professional pursuits have focused around education and widening participation. In order to self-fund his MA, he spent a year working in a secondary school in North London, during which time he was promoted from a TA to a Cover Supervisor and University Admissions Advisor to the Sixth Form. Moreover, throughout his undergraduate degree he worked as a Student Advocate for Educational Opportunities: The University of Liverpool’s Outreach and WP team. For his work in this field, Christopher was a nominated finalist for the 2013 Student Employee of the Year. |
