Bio: J. Tracy Power (Ph.D., University of South Carolina) is an assistant professor of History and director of the college archives at Newberry College. Power, a historian in the State Historic Preservation Office at the South Carolina Department of Archives and History 1986-2013, is the author of the award-winning Lee's Miserables: Life in the Army of Northern Virginia from the Wilderness to Appomattox (University of North Carolina Press, 1998) and the children's biography Stonewall Jackson: Hero of the Confederacy (The Rosen Publishing Group’s PowerPlus Books, 2005), and the co-editor of The Leverett Letters: Correspondence of a South Carolina Family 1851-1868 (University of South Carolina Press, 2000). |
